WooHoo! I Successfully "Set" my Broody Hen! -Pics, **DAY 18

hang in there I'm right with you
It hard to wait but so worth it, when you see your hen has became a mom over night.

Do you have her in a safe place so the other hens won't bother her chicks ? I was so tired of the stress of using the bator I to decided to let my broody Rosecomb sit on 3 eggs. I left her in the coop but put her in a x large dog kennel so the other hens wouldn't bother her or the chicks. I candled on day 10 but that is all.

This is what I found on day 20 !

Good luck with your hatch and just relax as she knows what to do. My Rosie got 100% hatch.

CW - here is a picture of her setting. She is in a hutch that I picked up off of craigslist early in the spring. I will keep her and her babies in there when they aren't free-ranging together.

Congrats on your 100% hatch! Love the pictures of your mama and her babies!

She looks very happy ! I asked about where she was because I have heard of so many people that allow the other hens around chicks and they kill them !
