A dude in China apparently hatched a rooster that turned out to be wooly! Check it out! I have never seen anything like it.

Come to think of it, it sort of has a weird comb too... Single on one side and rose on the other?

I would so empty my bank account for 50 eggs from this fellow's hens.

I think too much inbreeding and too much frizzle in background. OR subject to too much deliberate radiation. I feel sorry for the poor thing. I would think it would be sterile.
Maybe they just clone it.

My British friends would call that "bollocks".

I can't disprove the inbreeding hypothesis, but I can't see anything that strengthens it either. From what I've read, inbreeding usually starts showing itself in decreasing fertility or body size, if it presents itself at all, since chickens are usually so resistent to inbreeding.

"Too much frizzle", really? There are only two "amounts" of frizzle: One copy of the gene, resulting in normal frizzle, or dual copies, resulting in something in between frizzling and total baldness. You can't supercharge the frizzling and create the chicken in the pictures.

I assume you're joking with the radiation comment. And the cloning.

Why feel sad for it? It doesn't seem worse off than any silkie.

Do you have any reason whatsoever to assume it's sterile?

Interesting links, I've never seen this before.

I don't think that 'normal cock' is really so normal. It lays eggs. :gig
Example of another magazine article author who is stupid. Has anyone seen the Country Gardens mag issue with the chicken gardeners? It pictured a female BLACK SEX LINK and quote ( the Rhode Island Red is a good source of eggs) I understand these people don't know breeds and chicken sense, but get your information right before publishing something! Come on!
