Wooo Button Quails laid their first egg today

Wooooo I just peaked in on my buttons who are 7 weeks old now. And I have my first egg. Woooo let the fun time start. I so now want to spark back up the big bator....but darn hubby says no

congrats! you will have plenty of eggs to hatch when you do bring out the incubator.... I have a good 20/30 buttons mixed in with my coturnix and chicken eggs incubating

Not sure HOW they got inside the bator....

Woooo another egg today.

Will buttons go broody??? There is no way I can spark up my huge incubator for a handful of button eggs.

That's pretty early for button quail to be laying. You must have super buttons

ETA: Buttons can brood but it is usually after they have been laying for a while.

No thanks on the eggs.

I'm pretty sure they are 7 weeks old...they might be just a touch older, but I'm sure i've got the math right. They are in my living room and they are getting plenty of light....soooo????
