Wooo hoooooo! Welsummer Bantams! PICS on Pg2

Sorry I can not reveal the breeder's name out of respect and his privacy. He would not be able to handle large orders if every BYC folks wants some and he would go out the same way as Gordie did if someone did him in like it happened to Gordie. So I will not do that to him and must respect his decision. He gave me some details of the chick's parents which was imported from Canada and their parents were from Germany or of German lines. No Holland or Netherland lines in them.

Pascopal, However I am hoping I will be able to get some hatching eggs maybe in the fall or spring of next year if things goes well! I will be crossing the bantam roos over my LF Welsummers to get some dark eggs on the F2 and F3 generation, hopefully the egg shells will be much darker if I have luck!

One chick is out, the other is working on un-zipping.

Here they are! Did a quick shot and cleaned up the egg shells.

All are doing well today except for one which I dont think it will last very long in this world with my attempts to keep it going. It was chirping LOUD without a break for two days and getting weak. Been giving it pedialite and mush chick feed but he didnt show any interest in it at all.

If the Welsummer Club of North America website and the breeder is correct about sexing them, looks like I got about 4 pullets and 3 cockerals and one is a ? chick. The sick chick is a male so its no big deal if I lose him today.

Will take another picture later, they are sure messy little buggers! Their favorite thing to do is to kick the feed out of the troughs!
