Well some of you might remember my previous posts about my chickens not laying eggs. I thought it was never going to happen. So this week I am traveling for work and I joked with my kids that they were going to lay the first egg while I was out of town just to spite me. Well...

Here it is. We are soooo excited. And who knows maybe there will be one or two more by the time I get home on Friday...

YAHOO! I was travelling when my girls laid their first egg last year. My husband sent me a pic and I ran around showing it to everyone I work with. They thought I was insane.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I have a status update from home (I am still traveling) two days and two eggs. My wife and kids are waiting for me to get home to eat them. I think we are on a roll! Finally, after building a coop and all the feeding we have eggs. They are a little small, to be expected for the first few. Here is a picture with the first two eggs. The white egg in the picture is for size reference. I am really happy I don't have to send those girls to the freezer camp!
