WooT!! first green egg from one of my girls...

Congrats on your green egg! My 4 EE bantams are only 11 weeks old and I'm hoping they'll ALL lay colored eggs. But I'll be happy even if only one or two do. I guess we'll find out this spring. I hope your green eggs will keep on coming and be plentiful!

Congrats! I have 3 EE at 26 weeks, only one laying and has been for the past 3 weeks. She gives me a lovey tan egg....was so hoping for the green/blue but as she is the only one of 15 birds laying, I'm happy with my tan eggs:D

Oh, I'm so jealous. . . 2 EE's, and no eggs from either of them yet. . . . waiting. . . waiting. . .. waiting, and hoping I DO NOT have to buy grocery store eggs again, but I need more than one girl laying to manage that! Can you imagine my state of anticipation, each afternoon, when I return from work and check the nest boxes?

Congrats on all your beautiful eggs. Its exciting to get those green eggs too! Love 'em!

Congratulations on your green eggs! We have 5 EE's we got in April from McMurray. Two lay green eggs for sure, one is olive color and the other is a bluish green , very pretty. Two others lay pinkish ones which is different from the tans of our Wyandottes and Australorps, not sure about girl #5. +

The EE's are very quirky about where they will lay. I was waiting and waiting (ours free range) and found a nest way off in the woods with 32 eggs weeks after they had started to lay.

I think we have finally gotten them to use the nests. One thing that helped was putting up seperator boards so they had some privacy! We are just completing a new coop for them DH is doing the finishing touches this week. Once we can give them a new bigger space with more defined nest area I am hoping they will use it. Good luck with your egg collecting. It is so eggciting to find the blue eggs in a nest, like a little "bonus" . My friends love it when include a blue egg or two in their cartons.

Huh. My red sex-link is a laying fool too, and my EE hasn't started yet. The EE also seems to really hate the cold, so I'm not expecting to see any eggs out of her until spring. (The Wyandottes are molting, so they get a free pass at the moment.)

i got another one today.. YaY... but it was cracked... and still warm, so i think i know who laid it.. and i think it's one of my favorite hens Lucy... if it was her, that leaves hope that i may still have another that lays green to because i really think Angel will lay green too.... she has strange earlobes....
so since it was cracked anyway, i broke it open to check.. yep.. it's fertile!! YaY... i was sending some eggs with someone on thursday for them to hatch.. he's got an 8 yr old daughter.. i can't wait to hear her reaction when he brings home some eggs and one of them is green... they have EE's too, but none laying yet
