My ducks will be 1 yr this spring. When do they start laying? Do they lay in the cold? I dont know much about ducks breeding habits?

ducks start laying anywhere from 5-9 months of age, my girls are all about 6 months old, and only one mallard hen is laying right now, Maude my pekin is about 2 1/2yrs. she's just started up laying again.


they will lay in the cold, but it's less frequent I believe.

Mine are 8-9 months old and all are currently laying, I believe. (3 of them) It's pretty cold today and not sure I'll get any. I didn't yesterday.
