Welcome to the thread. Nice solve.

I extremely disliked this one. I rearranged the letters a ton of times before I got the flash of brilliance.

One vowel, and that being an “i” is wrong.

I try and pick the word I think is most commonly used when there are multiples,

I do too, that's why I went for chore and chose, as they seem more commonly used to me than choke. But I guess that all depends on what circles you run in.
