Most people try to set up their vowels first, so they will use a starter word like RAISE. If you don't hit on any or enough letters from that you might want to have a second starter word like HOUND that contains the other vowels.

Ahhhh! I've been using words with the really common letters to start with. Only once in 25 games (all I've played) have I had zero hits on my first try.

Right, if you use the most common letters you usually hit on something, then I try to use those letters in my second guess. Say I use RAISE and get R and S, my next word might be HOURS. I'm trying different placements for the R and S and still fishing for vowels. But everyone has there own way of doing it depending on how their mind works. You'll see AZ most often uses the same starter word, where Ralphie and I usually mix it up.

Oh, no, I didn't know there was a daily puzzle...! I've been on the wordle archive. So far I've done 25 of them. I've solved 4 of them in 3 turns, but that was mostly luck.
