Work from home

I had to get 2 months behind before they would work with me..yeah 2 MONTHS. Ridiculous! But, now that I have gotten so far behind...they have decided to give me a few options. I talked to them yesterday...I had called 3 times before, they now have said that I can do a modification, and that packet is on the way here from them. They also have a forebearance plan which is an option if the modification doesn't go through. I think both are crappy options, but rather than get farther behind...I just chose the lesser of the two evils. Maybe that will buy me some time at least.

What about driving a school bus?

I drive while my kids were young. there is no daycare because you can bring them with you (saving you $$)
On the way home I would do quick stops (always approved with dispatch) for groceries ect.
you have your days to clean and prep meals or even find a "mommy shift" job
Driving the bus was the best thing I did.. I was able to raise my kids while still contributing to the household finances. My DD went to school full time a few years ago and I went back to school for nursing and I graduated a year ago.

I have a few friends who still do it.. but it will vary from region to region... the take home here is about $400 bi-weekly

ETA: I always parked my bus at home so that there was no need for a second vehicle.

You have to have a CDL to drive a bus here. I don't, and it would take several months to get it, and school would probably be out by the time I did that. Thanks for the idea though, I may try that next year.

some companies will offer paid training for the right class in DL.... I know Laidlaw does here in Canada, you may want to stt if there is a bus company called STA (Student transportation of America) they have a canadian division called STC and I know they offer paid training too.

They do in the city. Laidlaw is big in the cities. When I lived in Savannah, Georgia a friend got training through Laidlaw. Here in the backwoods, you pay for your own training. I have a cousin that drives a bus. It took 3 months of school to get his CDL, and then he applied for the driving job. Our local school system does it that way, so it would keep me tied up in school when I need to be making some cash. Unfortunately, I can't do that at the moment. I still have to homeschool my 2 kiddo's too. So, I would be able to do training only during the summer.
