Working through intolerance?

My husband is diagnosed with chicken egg allergy, though his symptoms are more along the lines of an intolerance. He reacts badly to egg-based vaccines, too. He is not allergic to or intolerant of duck eggs, which is why we have ducks.

Don’t assume that every source that uses the word allergy is talking only about anaphylactic reactions. The medical community often describes food intolerances and allergies leading to anaphylaxis as food allergies and you may miss a helpful resource by looking only for the word intolerance.

I hope you find something helpful. My husband has had trouble with chicken eggs, but didn’t know he was allergic to them until he was middle aged and felt like he was spiraling toward disability. He has several food allergies that don’t cause anaphylaxis, but that do cause inflammation in his joints, digestive issues and other symptoms. When he stopped eating allergens, he stopped feeling like he was dying.

Thank you for your information, that could also be why I’m having a hard time finding details of therapy because I keep moving past anything with the word “allergy”.

I hope there is a systematize extremely low dose therapy out there.

Have you tried eating the ducks eggs without sugar(and also carbs) and fat?

Not to come off snobbish; But waffles and cookies are not a meal. You are stuffing a whole lot of sugar, sugar in carb form and fat down your throat too. I know that I can't handle that and 30 minutes - few hours (or next morning if I fall asleep in between) need to make a run to the toilet really fast with a lot of stomach pain. Just like lactose + sugar. Allthough I can handle lactose accompanied by vegetables. I just can't handle sugar/carbs/fat in any combo; unless it is watered down due to eating products together with it that don't have that in them. Who knows it's the combination too.

Maybe you should try a small piece of spinach/egg omelet, with nothing else in it besides a pinch of salt (no garlic or onions or peppers either) or the same with tomato/egg or if you réally want to exclude ánything grated zuchinni/egg. A piece and then nothing else.
A piece because sometimes after having bad feelings after a food, you can get stressed that it will happen again when eating a lot of it, and due to stress get those bad feelings (stomach ache, diahrea) again.
They day after a regular portion omelet.

I dunno. I was trying to bake stuff with the eggs. Unfortunately I don't have that much experience with breads, yet. I could try that, but I would like to try separate eggs, using only the yellow portion of the yolks. I'm not exactly sure how to do that effectively though since the whites are so darned thick.

You do it just like you would a chicken egg. Easy peasy!

To find out what actually makes you sick, I would try to first eat just egg, just egg-white or just egg-yellow. As basic as possible. I don't really follow this story. Getting a stomach once from waffles, and get really sick once from cookies... I don't follow how you directly go to an duck-egg protein allergy without testing eating the egg only?
Without that it can be so much. Maybe it was the flour. Maybe it was the egg-white. Maybe the egg-yellow. Maybe just accidentally these particular eggs used at that time. Maybe she can't handle the combination. Maybe she just coincidentally was sick for other reasons.
You can't rule anything out or claim duck-egg alergy before you try out egg-only.
And when sick then; you can change the feed of your ducks, see if that makes any difference.
