Hey guys, we are Josh and Jordyn! Just before our 1st Wedding Anniversary, Jordyn was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. We had already been searching for a house but the want became a need as we knew we wanted to start raising and growing our own food to try and fight this disease as it progresses. While researching how we wanted everything planned out, God set the calling on our hearts to take this idea and dream to the next level and involve the community. We started raising chickens in August after starting Working Aussies Homestead. What started as a desire to incorporate Black Austrolorps and Rhode Island Reds with our gardening turned into a Small Homestead adventure bringing on Freedom Rangers, Cornish Cross (this year) and a few Muscovy ducks. Why the name you ask? Well, we raise Australian Shepherds! A small venture we started almost 3 years ago. The learning never stops and I (Josh) spend much of my time learning more and more about chickens, photographing and videoing our experience for instagram and Youtube.

As of right now we have 7 Rhode Island Reds, 6 Black Aussies, 14 Whiting True Greens, 1 Silver Spangled Hamburg, 60 Freedom Rangers, 1 Pekin Duck and 1 Muscovy Duck.

When we aren't learning about chickens or gardening or messing with the pup, my wife and I work for an Automotive restoration company called Transporter Werks where we restore vintage Volkswagens. the intention is to one day do the homesteading and YouTube/teaching thing full time but until then we still love what we do!

We found backyard chickens through our almost 8 months of research be for jumping into this world. I'm not saying we are experts by any means but we are defiantly learning as fast as we can! If you'd like to check us out more, please, check out our website, YouTube, and instagram! We would love to have anyone as a part of our community!
