Working With Buckskin

Post another thread with hide prep work. I got a beech fleshing beam that folds up against the garage wall to not take up space. Use a heat gun abd bacon grease and burnished really good after soaking as much in as possible. I've just been to busy to work on hides with the other stuff I do also.

@Tre3hugger - Thanks! We get alot of processor waste during season and use as much as possible- leg bones get hooves removed for crafts, sinew removed/dried, hide taken off and tanned. Bone is dried for all sorts of projects including needles and sometimes buttons. If we ever get skulls, they can be cleaned as is or turned to buttons/fish hooks/and such. Hides can be hair-on or buckskin, and buckskin can be laces, bags, you name it. There's a whole lot to a deer people don't realize! Favorite craft has to be the new buckskin bag, as I'm really proud of how it turned out, but I still love making the bone needles.
