A kilogram or Kg is 2.2 pounds. Tapeworm dosage is 10 mg per Kg so 4.5 mg per pound. Any type of praziquantel can be used as long as you give that dose. Here in the thread below is dosages for different tapeworm medications in post 1:

Thank you so much for sharing...I'm in the United States and don't understand what kg is, what would the dose be in lbs? Also are those safe for chickens?

1 kg is about 2 lb. whatever dose is for dogs you give double to chickens.

you might be able to find horse paste as suggested. I live in a hot climate, almost no horses here.

Last...What would the dosage of this one be? Is this the one your talking about @chickengr?

we have different pills but praziquantel is the same. just read the instructions and make sure to give double dose. trust me, the dosage for dogs is not enough for chickens as they have very fast metabolism. I have been giving dog pills to the chickens for at least 8-9 years.

never tried pills for cats so not sure about dosage.

I don't know how many mg per kg or lb. 1 tablet is for 10 kg of body weight for dogs (our tablet). if chicken is big, around 5 kg I give it 1 tablet. if it is araucana or similar size (2,5 kg) I give it 1/2 tablet.

Oh no... So when I went to order on Amazon they're out an entire week for delivery. I know she can't wait that long which by the way I did find a second chicken that indeed fresh I watched her drop it and she's got two or three of those little white things in hers so I have two confirmed chickens with those worms. Anyhow, I went down to the local feed store here...The only one we have cuz I live in a little tiny rural town and picked up a tube of the only thing they had in stock which was the horse paste that you give the 0.16 mg of (the very first picture that I supplied in my above comment). Picked it up came home went to go give it to her pull it out of the box and it's expired as of January 2025. So just over a month expired... I called down to the store they said the entire box has that same expiration so they're going to be sending them back to the manufacturer. My question is this...
Will a just over one month past expiration still work because I'm without options at this point the next town is over 30 mi away there's no vets here in town at all that deal in chickens, and Amazon is a week out It would be Monday next week before it could get here!

If you bought an expired product with praziquantel in it, it will be fine to use and it will be effective.

5 / 2.2 x 10 / 77.5 = ~0.3 ml per *five* pounds

Dosage for this one? It's the least expensive, but does it work as well or as fast?

5 / 2.2 x 10 = 23 mg per *five* pounds - one tablet for a five pound bird

One tablet has enough medication to treat one five pound bird.
