I have a perhaps strange questions about worming your chickens. I have a couple of hens that have been 'out of condition' for a while. I have posted about it a couple times, and one of the suggestions was that they might need to be wormed. I have never done that before, but after reading up on it here, it sounded like the thing to do, and their symptoms seemed to go along with that diagnoses. So I wormed about a week ago with Piperazine 17 in the water for two days.
My question is this: if they had worms, I should have seen them come through, right? I cleaned the hen house thoroughly the day I started treatment and have inspected the deposits closely every day since, but have seen no signs of worms at all. I understand that the Piperazine only works on the adults, but if I'm not seeing any, I'm hesitant to bother with the repeat treatment.
Any thoughts, opinions, suggestions?
thanks!
