I have a perhaps strange questions about worming your chickens. I have a couple of hens that have been 'out of condition' for a while. I have posted about it a couple times, and one of the suggestions was that they might need to be wormed. I have never done that before, but after reading up on it here, it sounded like the thing to do, and their symptoms seemed to go along with that diagnoses. So I wormed about a week ago with Piperazine 17 in the water for two days.

My question is this: if they had worms, I should have seen them come through, right? I cleaned the hen house thoroughly the day I started treatment and have inspected the deposits closely every day since, but have seen no signs of worms at all. I understand that the Piperazine only works on the adults, but if I'm not seeing any, I'm hesitant to bother with the repeat treatment.

Any thoughts, opinions, suggestions?

thanks!

Piperazine is specific for one class of worms and is usually used first to lessen the effects to the hens bodies in dealing with a large load of dying worms.

Please read and follow the label.

The "normal" follow up is off label use of a rather broad spectrum wormer.
