Hi, birdlady 79. That is a dropping, not a worm. How are your birds doing besides that? What does their diet consist of?

That is shed intestinal lining. Worms are white/off white in color with the exceptions of gapeworms and gizzard worms. I can assure you that isnt a worm in your photo.

I believe I mentioned that it was possible a shaving couldve been eaten, but we dont know that for fact. Tarlike looking poop could be a sign of coagulated blood due to an internal injury swallowing a shaving, also impacted crop or gizzard, but not diarrhea. Have you treated these birds with corid? If not, it might be best that you do.
Sneezing can be caused by shaving dust like you stated, feed dust, ammonia fumes from soiled bedding, pollen etc..
If there arnt any other symptoms related to a respiratory disease ie; bubbly eyes, runny nostrils, wheezing, gurgling, facial swelling...then it's not a respiratory disease, it has to be environmental.

How old are the birds and what type and dosage of Corid did you use? How long did you dose the water each time, and did you make a fresh solution each morning?
