Worm

Those look just like what we call millipedes here in Florida. We have TONS of them, which is fine because they break down vegetative matter. But my chickens won't touch them. Hope you have better luck!
 
Those are baby millipedes they taste bad, not that I've eaten one but that's their defense. If you pick one up you'll find they are stinky as well. Don't think your girls will eat more than a few at most. Had to edit because I KNEW there was something funky about millipedes! They produce hydrogen cyanide, so you don't want your chickens getting more than an exploratory taste.

I agree with many of the other posters on this thread that chickens seems to know what they want to eat and not to eat.

Mine won't touch caterpillars. They also ignore moths and butterflies but I have seen them eat small ants and maggots. Only once have I seen a hen running around the yard with a big slug in her beak but never verified if she actually ate any of it. I would think not though because that slime is just like glue and can't imagine chickens wanting to eat that. Besides, I hate the though of slug eggs! Ewww!
