Hi guys, went out to feed the chooks this morning and found that my silver sussex hen has mucky butt, and phew she stinks! I would like to worm and bath her as the first line of treatment. My question is: how much??? The wormer I have is panacur 25 ( 25g/L ) . Can I single dose her and at what rate? She is very heavy , probably 4 kg.

Mmm, thanks Dawg, not a lot of info there unfortunately. The dosage on the label for goats is 1ml per 5 kg body weight , so the dosage in that thread seems very high. I have used this to worm the flock in the past, at 3 cc per gal in their water, and I only noticed today that , this is your recommendation on 10% . Not really sure what to do now.

Panacur 10% is 100 mg/ml. Panacur 25 is 25 g/L. So you would dose 4 times more Panacur 25.

*This only applies to liquid suspensions. If one or the other is in paste form then you are converting from %w/v to %w/w (%weight/volume to %weight/weight). Don't do that!

Thanks guys, goin to do a little more research on this . After soaking her in a warm bath for 20 mins I have come to the conclusion that I'm dealing with vent gleet.
