worming chickens

I buy mine from bulk seeds at the grocery store, which are dried, but I also just give them baked squash with the seeds, which they eat like they're starving.

EDITED to clarify:
The pumpkin seeds are more of a preventative measure and they will get some worms. They are not, however, necessarily foolproof and you may end up having the worm your birds with something stronger. Same with Diatomaceous Earth as a wormer in the feed. It may get some, it may not. Some swear by it, but then again, how it works in a wet environment is a legitimate question. Alot depends on your soil where you live, I believe. Look at your birds poop from time to time. You may just SEE worms squirming in it and know you need a real wormer. Piperazine only gets roundworms. Levamasole is a pig wormer and the injectable form is used in a gallon of water then again 10 days later with a 7 day withdrawal period, I think. Many birds may never need worming at all. Healthy chickens can carry a small worm load without it hurting them, but if they are looking listless and pale, that could be a sign that they need worming or something else.
