can anyone help me with measurements for flubenvet.do i mix treatment each day or for all seven.what is mg=???i have 15 chickens what do i do??

I just started using Flubenvet for the first time today.

The little scoop they give you with the tub of powder is equivalent to 6 grams. That amount mixes with 2kg of feed, giving a dose of 30 parts-per-million (ie a very small ratio of powder-to-feed) in their feed. The chickens then take as much or as little feed as they need, meaning the bigger hens get a relatively larger dose.

That's the theory...

In practice, I found that mixing up a dose for one day for my small flock of four hens is really tricky - it equates to around 1/3 of that tiny scoop! I'm still worried that I may have overdosed them (anyone got any thoughts on what might happen if that were the case?)

I definitely recommend mixing it into a small amount first, then adding that into a bigger amount, and then into the full amount - so that it's evenly mixed. That's what they suggested on the tub and it makes sense as the amount is so small. It's also going to be a lot easier to mix evenly if you feed the hens moist food rather than dry food, such as pellets.

If you don't have a scoop, my guess is that the scoop is equivalent to around half a teaspoon of powder (anyone else want to put me right there? I've never been much good at spatial awareness!)

Does that sound about right?

I'm also planning to mix it up daily - trying to calculate seven days' worth of feed and then work out the accompanying dose is rather too complicated for me!

The 240g tub is 2.5% flubendazole
The 60g tub is 1.0% flubendazole

The correct dose rate for a medium sized chicken of the 2.5% formulation was 0.12g per day.

I follows therefore that the dose rate for the 1% formulation would be 0.12 x 2.5 = 0.3g per day = 2.1g total for the 7 day treatment.

The scoop enclosed in the pack measures out approx. 6 grams and would therefore be enough to treat 3 hens for 7 days."
