Worming in Chickens

Is it just because they don't get enough into their systems that way? Or because you can't monitor how much each one is getting? I would imagine both of those are true. Anyway thank you for your advice!
Both, and most people have read to put 3 ml in a gallon, which even if they drank tons of water, it's not enough to treat most worms.
 
Doesn’t it also settle out in the water because it is a suspension, and they will not get a proper dosage as they drink it? Putting it into a mushy pan of feed and mixing it well would be a little better than just water, but you still are not going to be able to control how much each chicken gets or if they get enough. Giving it directly to each chicken is the best way to know what they are getting.
