So in the lovely state of Arizona, the summers are brutal (I'm talking over 110 on a regular basis). Because of this heat, chickens don't always do to well and one recently went down with heat stroke. While we were attempting to get her better, we noticed she had worms. I don't usually worm my flock, but I keep an eye on the droppings and what not. I haven't notice worms in the droppings but apparently, they are there. I was going to worm with Wazine, but I know from past experience worming other livestock that it hits their system pretty hard. Is it safe to worm them when they are under stress from the heat?????

Wazine is ok for only roundworms.
Safeguard is better. Are you sure it's the heat that has her down and not the over load of worms?
In my experience if you are seeing worms in the poop your bird is infested and needs to be treated asap, most of the time you won't ever see worms, and that is why it is so important to get regular fecals done (they are so cheap) so you can worm before the chickens get too sick.
Is she drinking?

I have talked to my vet and she has said to follow up the Wazine with Safe-Guard, since Roundworms are the ones I have. I am pretty sure it was heat stroke (that's the leading cause of death in my flock), her body temperature was WAY higher than it should be. She passed away recently, there was nothing we could've done. I have regularly checked their poop, but have never seen worms. I found them after she had passed, and the release of her muscles resulted in the emptying of her bowels. I just don't want to add more stress to the rest of them when I worm.

Thanks for explaining.
Just so you know you usually won't ever see worms.
That is why it is best to get the fecals done.
Did you ask your vet what they thought about worming the whole flock now with the heat?
