Greetings everyone - I just have two birds. A black cochin rooster, Penguin and his red sexlink partner, Red. How can you tell if your birds need to be wormed?
He's moulting so he looks scruffy, she looks great. Appetites are fine and so is their energy level. I know with horses there is a routine for worming, but chickens are a whole new ballgame for me.
What do you worm them with if you do need to worm them? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

Hello, the best wormer for chickens, in my opinion, is Valbazen. For large fowl, you give it to them orally 1/2 cc, and 1/4 cc for bantams, then repeat again in 10 days.

Just a routine worming now and again is good. Molting time is always good because then you're not getting eggs, and then maybe springtime.

Hope this helps,
Sharon

Thanks Sharon! That helps a lot. One more question - where do you get chicken wormer? Vet? Feed mill? Catalog?

Any of those places will have it. Around here TSC or Agland has it. You can also order it online.
