Hello all, uk user here, was wondering if someone could help me out. I’ve been looking after a friends hen who has worms whilst she’s been on holiday, the premixed flubenvet pellets I’ve been using have been a week out of date, my friends ordered fresh stuff to give the rest of her flock when she gets back. My query is would this hen be ok going on a second dose of this fresher stuff? Also I’ve noticed her poo is riddled with worms compared to a week ago is this the worms dying off and coming out in her poo? Sorry for the gross photo, I think it’s roundworm? If anyone can identify them?
Many thanks for anyone who reads this post

Yup, she's got roundworm.

Probably.

A week out of date should still work. Weeks or months out of date may not be as effective.

I would suggest that rather than use the Flubenvet premixed layers pellets you buy the flubendazole powder and dose each bird individually. This should ensure each bird gets the correct dose. Mix the powder with a little water to make a paste. Soak small pieces of bread in the paste and feed to soaked bread to the chicken.

This should help you make up the correct strength of powder.

Thankyou .I'm the friend this is very helpful

Hi I'm the friend.
Will it be OK to worm her again as I've already brought a new bag of flubavet wormer?
Did you give her the full 7 day course of the Flubenvet layers pellets first time around?
How many day/weeks/months out of date is the old Flubenvet layers pellets?

I wormed my whole flock 3 months ago as a routine.
I was leaving for holiday last Wednesday.the day before I was checking them all over and noticed my polish bantam was quite thin.due to the drop in weather my friend kindly offered to have her..she pooed worms out.i had some of the flubervet pellets left but they were 1 week out of date.
She's been on then since Wednesday so 6 days so far
I have a new bag waiting for me to start the rest on on Thursday.
But wondering what I should do about her as she's still got worms in her poo.
Any advice welcomed

I doubt a week out of date matters.
She will poop out worms for a few days after treatment.
Give it a couple of days to see if the stops excreting worms then consider another course of treatment.
As mentoned above, better by far is to use the powder and dose each bird individually.

So retreat her again next week with powder and do rest of flock too.is it safe to use one after the other with only few days in-between? Thankyou for helping me
