Hi all,

I posted in a different area about this, but figured I might get the best response here, from people that have turkeys.

I am trying to figure out the best way to worm my turkeys, what to use etc. I have been doing a lot of reading, but it seems every one has a different opinion, and my head is spinning. I was thinking of trying eprinex, but was unsure of dosage, or if it kills cecal worms, which seem to be rather important to kill in turkeys. I have blue slates, and all are full grown. I would appreciate any advice you can give.

Thanks!

I use an organic product that is mostly herbs. it's a liquid you put in their water or on some feed. I use it for my chickens once a month and it is made for all types of poultry. The dose is just different for each type of animal. There is no withdrawal of eggs or meat needed. You would give it to them 3 days in a row every month. If interested you can read all about it @ Vermx.com
The name of the Product is Verm-X and if you are in the USA make sure you click on the website that is for the USA. It's about $60.00 a bottle and depending on how many and what type of poultry you're treating it will last for 6 months.
Hope this helps until someone else comes along to give you an answer. I just got adult turkeys about a month ago and gave it to them for the first time in March. I usually give it to the chickens the last week of each month so I remember

Several avain vets have told me to use Safeguard for Goats/Cattle (fenbendazole 10%) at 50mg/kg by mouth( .5cc/kg) and repeat in ten days. It's at the high end of what is given to birds, but that's what I have done with all of mine.

Fenbendazole does kill cecal worms.
