I picked up a bottle of safe-guard 10% suspension goat wormer at my local tsc. I have never wormed my chickens and wish to do so. I have read through a few threads and see where safe-guard can be added to water. Can I give it directly to the chickens by mouth? If so, can anyone provide advice on the dosage? Thank you!

And since I forgot welcome to our community here at BYC!

Absolutely the best way IMO is to worm each bird straight to the beak.
The dose for Fenbendazole is 0.23 ml per pound of bird.
One dose and then repeat one dose in 10-14 days.

1/2 lb bird = 0.115ml dose
1lb =0.23
2lb=0.46
3lb=0.69
4lb=0.92
5lb=1.15
6lb=1.38
7lb=1.61

Discard eggs for 2 weeks after final dose.

I have a question about this. Reading forums everywhere, to figure out how to worm my girls, and I have this exact stuff but my question is my chicken is about 4 lbs. you said dose her 0.92mL- but on the bottle it says 0.6mL for a 25 pound goat. Now, granted, math is NOT my strong point- am I missing something here?

My vet said to give .6 ml for a chicken 5-6 lbs once a day for 5 days

The dosing amounts are different for a goat vs. a chicken.
