Worming

I was feeling really bad because I would come out in my yard and start digging and my chickens would freak out and run from me. They usually love me but fear the shovel. I am expanding their coop so I was out there a lot with the shovel and felt bad about scaring them so I taught them thet if they "help" me in the yard, they get rewarded abundantly with worms. Now I can barely get any work done because they are so excited to "help" me. They are just like me, easily swayed by their stomachs.

I have a black Ameraucana hen who will literally follow me everywhere around the yard if I lift up rocks and logs for her to get the worms and tasty morsels underneath them.
