Worms in feces, graphic and horrible picture

This is a horrible problem! Thanks for those of you doing the research to try to solve it. I know that if I saw this coming from my chicken I would worried. But like a lot of people cash poor and uncertain if I could just run the the vet. and get it tested. So, thanks to everyone for the leg work. And to the OP as gross as it is, thanks for sharing the pic. I/We need to know these things however gross it might be.

On a different note, I find myself oddly grossed out but enamored at the picture. I am uncertain why. I guess I am just fascinated at it.. the way a scientist looks at mold spores.

Thank you. I just did Ivermectin about 3 days ago and noticed a big drop in the numbers. I thought I'd wait a few days and try and get some answers before going out and getting the albendazole on Monday. What I see in my chickens poops look quite similar but more round than rice shaped. It's eerily similar though I'm afraid.

You know what we need here is our own little "poop" gallery!!!

When you worm your chickens next time, consider Valbazen (albendazole.) It can be purchased from Jefferslivestock.com
Valbazen kills all known worms that chickens can get. It is a cattle/sheep wormer.

I only treated the dog and I used Safe-Guard. I wanted to find out the type worms before treating the chickens. None of the vets would test the samples from the chickens. The dog checked out clean and I didn't see them anymore. I still check all the time.

I never saw them in fresh droppings from the chickens, only under the roost area. They didn't look like normal dog tape worms.

Valbazen- 2 pound chicken ~0.1 ml Valbazen
- 4 pound chicken ~0.25 ml Valbazen
- 7 pound chicken ~0.5 ml Valbazen

I work in a large/small animal vet clinic. Valbazen oral drench is the way to go for tapes. I would suggest (unfounded) to not eat the eggs for a 2 week period.

Thanks everybody, I'm clear for now but I'm going to keep vigilent and definitely use the Valbazen next time. I didn't see any of these things in the poops yesterday but I won't be convinced until I repeat with AC vinegar and DE which is what I'd been doing about 2 days a week before I noticed this was going on.

You know the funny thing is, I wouldn't have noticed except two of my hens got closed in the garage. There were poops all over and one on the bench of my husband's gym set. It's black of course and so the situation was obvious. The little white things were sticking out and smattered around a bit.

Yuck!!!

It'd been about nine weeks since I'd used Ivermectin last.
