I just came across a galvanized can of cracked corn in my barn and found there are worms and weevils living in it. I was about to throw it out into the woods and wash out the can to purchase more corn. Should I let my girls have a picnic and throw some of the corn/worms/weevils in their yard? Or just throw to the woods?

Is it a wet corn or dry? If it's dry I would give it all to them. If it was a wet can or a can of corn with liquid that could have botulism, then I would not. I have heard of someone that fed a can of expired and "bulging" canned vegetables to their chickens and they were all dead within hours.

Thank you so much for your reply, sideWing. The corn is dry, but obviously moisture has gotten into the can. I can see that one side of the corn is molded, so I'll scoop out on the good side of the bad corn. LoL. And then just throw the rest out into the field. I gave them a scoop of it yesterday, and they were like a fat kid in a candy store. So Happy :) haha Thanks again for your information. It was very helpful.
