I was gathering the eggs this afternoon and noticed a nasty looking piece of poop....looks like worms to me. I have never had to deal with worms before...Can I eat the eggs if my chickens have worms?? What wormer should I use to treat them?

Can you post a picture of what you saw? Was this freshly deposited poop or could it have maggots from fly eggs in it? Roundworms are one of the few that can be seen without a microscope. Eggs are safe to eat. A vet can perform a fecal test on some fresh droppings that you take in, to help tell younif she has worms and what type. If that is not possible, Valbazen or SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer are safe and effective wormers that would help. I can give dosages if needed.

Thank you!! Here are some pictures, disgusting as they are lol

I figured that was the case...Can you give me some dosages for the wormers that we’re listed? I will check out local TSC tomorrow.

Yep, they are tapeworms. When you go to TSC tomorrow, buy Equimax equine paste. Dose your birds orally. For a 5 pound bird give 0.13ml orally. Then repeat again in 10-14 days.
The Equimax will be in the Equine section.

So just squirt it in their mouth with a syringe, kind of like you do with cats, rights? Sorry, never given my chickens meds before lol.
