Worms in poop

There has been different opionions on how much time to let go before eating eggs that were treated. Wayzine is more aggressive so I wouldn't eat for at least 2 wks. after the last dose given. That seems to be the general opinion.

Apple Cider Vinegar. I believe it's 1Tbsp./Gallon. It's just a preventative and probably not 100% effective. So always be on the lookout for worms. I use it in mine.
I didnt't think I could find DE where I live, and in general I can't, however my husband was at the little organic store near us and found that she has some just in talking about chickens. It was pricier than if I ordered it on line, but I got it and have now added it to our feed. I plan on dusting my hens tonight with it. So just pick up the phone and call the little stores, maybe they have it, but make sure it's food grade. My feed store wants to sell me Pool filter DE whenever I ask if they will ever get it in. I wish stores would hire knowledgable people.....

Alright....not being able to leave this alone I went to Fleming Labs website and called. Spoke to a very nice gentleman and questioned him about the consumption of eggs after using wazine-17.

He stated they spoke with the FDA and according to the FDA they are being told to inform people not to eat the eggs produced for 17 days after the deworming ends. However, he also pointed out that Piperazine is also used as a dewormer in humans as well. Furthermore, there is no information that any of the Piperazine is actually absorbed into the eggs from the process. Finally, he stated that you arent able to consume the meat of a chicken treated with Piperazine for 14 days after the process. The meat of the bird will absorb the durg much more readily than an egg even potentially would.

I was thinking that while humans are said not to consume the eggs people here say its fine to boil the eggs and feed them to thier dogs or even chickens. The body mass of either animal is much smaller than a human and therefore if there was to be any adverse side effects to the product they would be magnified in those animals.

See what Im getting at. There is no actual study done on the product so out of caution we are told not to consume them. I really wanted to ask the straight poop (pun intended) about what he thought. Being an attorney I knew better and left the question unasked.

Try safeguard it kills more types of worms than wazine. I raise bobwhites and this stuff works great.

hey guys, I don't regularly deworm my chickens, most of mine are show birds and they have their own "runs" up off the dirt. I haven't seen any issues. Do you all recommend regular deworm? I talked to a poultry show judge that said after deworm, give a dose of Iodine in the water to help clean up the insides and "perk them up". that might help if the bird is carrying a heavy parasite load.

The little white worms are probably Cecal Worms, wazine will have no effect on these. Levamisole and fenbendazole(safeguard) are best for these

Yeah we worm all our animals down here in Ga with soap all the time, Then we make a game out of it by running along behind them and popping the bubbles..lol...I have heard of ppl using Dawn, dont know how effective it is
