Worms or intestine

I have a chick who is dying. I saw what I thought was poop/blood around the anus and pulled/wiped and it seemed to be a worm or part of the intestines? Also some pus? It looked like an earthworm to me. I have separated the chick (which should die shortly) but what is this? Is it something I need to treat for all my birds? This chick was 4-5 weeks (pullet) but not growing as fast as the rest.

Did you keep it ? Or take a picture of it ?
Can you give some background on your chickens ? Does it free range ? Where did you get them ?

It sounds like shed intestinal lining.
