Worms??? Please HELP!!!

.03 ml per each pound the bird weighs...for Equimax.
You will need to put the paste straight into each ones mouth or trick them with it squirted on a small piece of bread.
Oh, that's good to know, they all like treats. 0.03ml per pound. Thanks!:highfive:

Once you dose the birds that have tapeworms, try and keep an eye on their feces. It's possible you'll see bits and pieces of the tapeworm itself excreted in feces. They can be flat shape wise and off white in color or can be stringy like jellyfish tentacles or both.
If you dont see any at all, they will have been digested as extra protein in the digestive tract.

It looks like possible tapeworm segments. Are those fresh droppings, and are the worms moving? If they are indeed tapeworms, the best treatment is a wormer that contains praziquantel, such as Equimax horse paste which you can find at many feed stores. Dosage is 0.03 ml per pound (0.15 ml for a 5 pound hen) given orally once and again in 14 days.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

@Eggcessive posted the dosage in post #4. When I treated my birds for tapes, I caged the infected ones and put a dab of paste on my finger and forced open the beak, then smeared the paste inside the mouth on the side of the birds beak, the bird had no choice but to swallow the paste.
I tried putting it on a small piece of bread, some birds would eat it, others wouldnt touch it. Other birds that were already dosed would run up and steal the treated bread and were doubled dosed. Fortunately they were okay afterwards.
Here's a couple of pics of some caged birds I was treating for tapeworms.

Thank you too!!!
I'll just have my assistant (my DH) help me hold them while I dose them. It shouldn't be too bad.

If you go to Walmart to the pharmacy they will give you a free 1 ml needleless syringe which will make it easier to dose your chickens. They are free for giving babies medicine, and they gave me 2 of them for my chickens, LOL. Probably most pharmacies would do the same.
You were reading my mind, I was just trying to figure out where I was gonna get a TB syringe!!! Thanks, I'll stop by the pharmacy tomorrow too!
