Worms!?!

my chicken has had crop issues for the past three weeks. Vet prescribed me Albon (not sure why) without seeing her. Her crop empties but not completely and hasn’t gone sour. I don’t think there is any sort of impaction. The only thing left I can think of is worms. I don’t know what to work her with because I don’t see any worms in her poop/vomit. this is my last attempt before I think I put her to sleep, it is hard to keep putting her through this! She is getting skinny. Help!

Apple Cider Vinegar can help with digestion and tummy upsets, might be worth a try.

Also if you do suspect it’s worms, pumpkin seeds do naturally deworm. They aren’t as harsh on the chicken either. There’s lots of controversy over it, and I’m not going to debate it with anyone right now (just putting that out there). But I’ve seen amazing results with them myself. If you think it’s worms, that would definitely be easier on her than chemical dewormers.

Other than that I don’t know! I don’t know what it could be but I wish you the best of luck with her and hopefully you get it figured out soon :)

Is she vomiting?
You aren't likely to see any worms in feces unless there are a extreme heavy amount.
I think the albon treatment is a misdiagnosis. Without seeing the bird, I don't know why one would prescribe a bacteria/protozoa treatment.
Since you have a vet, have them read a fecal sample.
What is the bird being fed? Is it penned or free range?
Is it getting grit?

She is 10 weeks old, still on started chick feed. Have been adding ACV to water. The only vet that will actually look at her for an exam in my area charges $200. CRAZY! I’ve had her secluded in my basement so I can monitor the amount she is pooping. I brought her outside the other day back in thencoop and she didn’t do too well.
