Worms

If she were mine I'd get some Safeguard for goats and dose her several days in a row at 20-50mg/kg orally 3-5 days (.2 to .5ml per 2.2 pounds). If she's not drinking/eating she needs to be tube fed or she will die. See link in my sig for tube feeding info.

And get a kitchen scale and start to weigh her daily.

Thanks so much. Will go get that as soon as the feed store opens in the am. I have a kitchen scale so will be using that as well. Great idea. Thank you!!

hello can someone tell me if my rooster has worms? he has raspy breathing but no sneezing coughing or any type of snot green poop and is losing weight and some of my other chickens are just losing weight but did not see worms in there poop and all are eating pretty good. please some one answer soon I am living on a trip this Wednesday!

Yeah he could have. If you are leaving wed, you don't have time to order anything. Get some Rooster Booster dewormer, it's a good broad spectrum dewormer from what I've learned on here. You mix it wih their food. It also has some stuff in it that might be good for other things. Hurry though. You can get it at most feed stores. Give it to the whole flock, and follow any directions for a second treatment. If there aren't any directions about second treatments, I'd deworm them again in ten days or so. Anyway, I'd start with deworming them if I were you.

I bought some Wazine 17,that is the only wormer that you can get around here for some reason. I am hopeful this stuff will kill Gape worms because that's what I think he has.

Wazine will not kill gapeworms, it is only effective against roundworms. Gapeworms are not terribly common, if your rooster is making rasping or wheezing sounds he could be coming down with a respiratory disease as well. But either way, it is still a good idea to deworm them all. Most feed stores carry liquid Safeguard goat dewormer. Valbazen is also a very good wormer, just a little harder to find sometimes.

It will only kill roundworms. Take it back and get the Safeguard goat wormer or Safeguard horse paste. Both are 10% fenbendazole and the dose I would use for gapes if I suspected them would be .2ml-.5ml per 2.2 pounds orally for 3-5 days.

If he has raspy breathing and is acting like he has gapeworm, it could be capillary worms because that is a symptom of those. Or can be. In that case, Safeguard or Rooster Booster will kill them. If you can't find those two dewormers, ask, because they should be available in feed stores. Do you have a Tractor Supply nearby? Also that's why I suggested RB cause I read on the bottle that it treats some respiratory problems In poultry also. But I bet it's capillary worms. Especially if you've had a lot of rain where you are. Safeguard is an excellent dewormer. You can also buy Safeguard dewormer for poultry, but you have to order it online.
