Worms?

Yes and no.
On the yes side, if they were wandering and foraging with a mother hen, she would find things like that and teach them to eat the worms, etc.. That is excellent animal protein as well.
On the no side, many things are secondary hosts for parasitic worms. Those are things like earthworms, beetles, crickets, slugs, etc..
Since I discovered that, I don't rush into providing those things.
A foraging chicken will always have parasitic worms and a healthy chicken can handle a light worm load with no problems.
However, for baby chicks without a mother hen, I prefer to keep them on chick starter/grower till they're a bit older.
Starter is complete nutrition and will give them the best start.
Probiotics given now will help them ward off things in the environment as they mature.
