Try offering a soft, wet mash with a touch of natural fruit juice—this provides quick, easily absorbed energy (thanks to the natural sugars) and helps keep them hydrated at the same time.

If you can, take it a step further and make a little homemade applesauce (just apples—no added sugar or spices). Not only does it mix beautifully into a wet feed or mash, but the apples also begin releasing natural enzymes as they break down, which can gently support digestion during recovery.

This is especially helpful when birds aren’t eating well on their own. The soft texture is easier to swallow, the flavor can tempt picky or sick birds, and the moisture content helps with hydration—super important. Hope she feels better soon!
