Worried about chick shipment...

Also expecting chicks tomorrow or the next day, and it has been low 90s, which is HOT...Im for sure picking mine up at the PO, so no sitting around in a truck all day. Should have them home and set up before the kids have camp.

I tried and tried to talk to the post office about delivery but they were not very helpful. I worried myself sick. As it turned out, the girls arrived after only two days and they called me immediately. They will put your number on the box (at least MyPetChicken does.) The girls came to the post office I did NOT expect them to be delivered to which is why I couldn't get a straight answer from my questions during my visits.

As it turned out, I lost my little buff silkie on the second day, regardless of the timing and the weather. Touch and go with my little barred rock for awhile, but I think she is going to be okay. (Yayyyy Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother, hard boiled eggs, and yogurt.) She's just pretty tiny, even as a bantam I think.

I know this waiting and worrying is hard. Let us know how they do. Happy Chicken Day to you!

Our chicks came today. The Post Office here was very good. They called us right away and we could hear the chicks chirping when we walked into the Post Office. Here are pictures I took when we opened the box to check them. The Post Office clerk is holding one.

They came from Randal Burkey Hatchery and all went well.

I just picked up my 1 of 2 shipments I have of chicks coming this week, this was the 50 pullets and all arrived in beautiful shape along with 2 extras, hoping that the 2nd shipment does as well as these! Today was a record high for our area it was 98, while I was picking mine up there was another lady picking hers up and she was concerned about them being cold due to the AC in buildings, I don't think that was a problem today.
