I have an unusual chick. It's a splash cochin, about 3 weeks. It has feathers coming out at odd angles, making it look much poofier and gaudier than any of the other chicks. The past week or so, the top and bottom of its beak doesn't line up when closed. Now it's doing this kind of.. screech sound. Almost like a cross between a chirp and a hiccup. It's pretty loud, and the chick's neck juts up every time it does it. Perhaps something caught in its throat or... or I just don't know. I'm worried about this chick.. any advice would be very welcome.

It also seems to be having trouble breathing maybe.. or rather it's breathing very wetly. I can hear a little liquidly sound every time it takes a breath. I'm worried about it. I wish there was something I could do. Anyone? I'm worried I'm about to lose another one

Is there something I should do? Maybe put it out of its misery?

well i am no expert because 4 hatching try's failed only 2 in all those tries made it to where they had a chance to make it. but i think it would be best to put it out of its misery. but post a pic or two of the chick so i can see what it looks like.

How do I go about killing a chick?
