I wonder if you can help me I received 10 hens (18wks old)from a very credible hatchery. All of them look great except one came with an eye that is closed. I do not see any redness infection leaking of any sort. It looks totally fine. However, she was rubbing it on her side and scratching it when I first got her and now I don’t see that happening and I do see the Odd little blinks from time to time. Even inside the eye when I opened the lid looks great.
I have been wiping it with chamomile tea, and then putting Polysporin and eye drops in once a day. According to my vet.
I noticed that she’s not interacting with the other Chicken’s as much and she has a bit of puffiness and laying onto the side on her own
When I pick her up and put her in the dusting area, she enjoys it she dust and then she wanders off all by herself again. She is eating and drinking. She does not have any issues around her butt as far as diarrhoea or anything. Everything looks normal.
Daily they get fresh lettuce greens from a fresh market here I also mix all the 10 herbs and spices, including mealworms into their daily evening snack
I am very worried about her and not sure if she’s sick or just keeping away because she can only stay out of one eye
Can you please help me figure out what’s wrong with her? Or is it just because she doesn’t wanna open her eye?
