worried about one of my babies

i'm sooo sorry, i was wondering how she was doing. i'm sure you did all you could and we all learn as we go.

I think some vitamins and or electrolytes may have saved little Mabel. I'm so sorry for your loss

Sometimes the littlest needs an extra boost to get going. I'm not sure I would put brand new babies in with 3 week olds. They can be bullies..and keep the babies away from feed or, just peck them around enough to do injury.

Older chicks can also introduce Coccidia to the little ones. As for the pine shavings, don't worry about it as most of us raise chickens on pine and never have a problem.

I'm so sorry that you lost your little Mabel. It happens to all of us at one time or another, but it's never easy on our hearts.

this morning after letting my adult out of the coop i was a bit scared to even go in to check the chicks...but praise the Lord all where still happy as can be and went crazy over the 2 worms i gave them. the other silver laced (Gerdy) is doing a great job at keeping her own and hanging right there with her older sisters.
