One of our chicks knocked off a large piece of shell while it was zipping (not huge, but larger than normal). You could see it trying to break the membrane, but it couldn't get through. Now the membrane has dried out. How long should I wait before I help the chick out?
It pipped this morning and broke off the chunk of shell sometime this afternoon.
