worried about sitting hen

My BR hen has been sittng on a clutch for about a week. I actually have two hens sitting in the same building. One is a mutt bronze BR mix the other my BR hen. I have seen the mutt off her nest every morning for a little bit to eat and drink but have not seen the other hen out at all. Today I spent a lot of time outside and never did see her move. My question: is this normal behavior? She seems alert and quite agressive - hissing when you get close, so I assume she is staying healthy. I just can't believe she has not been out to drink.

Normal! She doesn't wan't to get off the eggs with you there. Try to take a poult from her when they hatch and see what happens.

You don't need to do anything special for her. Just make sure she has access to her regular feed and water. She will eat and drink as she needs. She won't eat as much as normal because she is not moving all day. She is doing what she is supposed to do.
