Worried and wondering about this newly hatched chick

Put her in a smaller sock, and then put yer in a container with air holes poked in the lid. Something small so she cant get out of the sock. You have to keep her off of her back, that's not good. Make her stay on her tummy somehow.

Great idea. I just did it. Instead of putting a lid and poking holes I just put the container into the incubator. Should I be concerned she will get too hot this way?

I don’t want to do the lid because I want to be able to see her in case she manages to get out of the sock or onto her back. I don’t think she will though. She seems to be staying put.

If it is chirping loudly and appears to be suffering, it could be time to cull. It is very sad to see them go because you see them from egg to pip to a chick.
She isn’t. She actually is quiet when we hold her and she falls asleep. We’ve been taking turns holding her to keep her on her belly.

Yes it will be sad if we have to cull. I’ve never done it before. But if she seems like she is suffering or doesn’t improve I will do it.
