It’s a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug that helps relieve pain also. How often did the vet rec? Just like the OTC things we take like Ibuprofen etc it’s not something we want to stay on there are side effects. It’s so awesome he is doing so much better. When my dachshund was on it It was for 14 days, But the best would be to contact the vet and tell him how well he’s doing and how often he’d rec you give it.

Yes he gave me a months supply to use as needed to mitigate the pain but said use as needed and he would refill.. just didn’t suggest everyday because of side effects I guess.. I just figured this week I would do a full week and then taper it like you said because he really seems to be doing better and it makes my heart happy... thank you so much.. you’re a wonderful feathered loving friend

Thank you for ur kindness in replying.. The vet did try to touch around and didn’t sense anything .. I felt around by his hip and he didn’t seem to flinch.. I’m not sure how else to check:-( also I am not certain there is anything I can do about a hip problem ? Thank you again for your time and response

I have a 12 yr old Muscovy female with most likely arthritis in her hip. Legs and feet look great. She walks with a limp. Other that that she is feisty, eats great so I just watch to make sure she doesn’t get to the point where she isn’t enjoying life. If we can make them comfortable and they can be content that’s what is important.

Today has been such a great day he is swimming a lot in the
in-ground duck pool and I have created a sort of “swim up bar” by surrounding the perimeter of his pool with lots of stuff to graze on.. he did his dance in the pool where he lifts up and flaps his wings .. my heart is happy bc he is so happy. And I’ll say it again I’m grateful for all of you caring people
