Worst Attack Ever

I am sooo sorry to hear about your loss. I am a dark Brahma lady, and know the wonderful personality of the dark Brahmas. I heard the salmon faverolles were pretty personable too. All I have to say is it's a good thing your neighbor does not live in Florida where you can shoot (unless something is endangered of course) if something is attacking your livestock. Another thing is shoot, as questions later if you or your family feels threatened. I would check out the laws regarding the birds, even if they only give you credit for small claims. Some of these laws are pretty strict regarding livestock or pets and getting stricter now that people are growing their own food especially. I'm sure the house sitter feels really bad, but the neighbor is just plain cold and heartless.

i'm so sorry! That is just horrible. If you can prove the corgi was responsible, the owner needs to pay you for your losses. If you can't prove it, your house sitter needs to pay you. That won't help with the pain and suffering your birds experienced, or your grief and loss. But it might send a message that people need to be responsible.

i am so grateful to have a good pet sitter. She is licensed and bonded, and experienced enough to make wise decisions. She isn't cheap, but well worth the peace of mind to know my animals are as safe as possible. We're going on a 10 day vacation next January, and i was debating trying to find someone less expensive, a student perhaps. But after reading your post, i think i need to stay with the professional.

Again, i am so sorry for your loss. i hope your family and flock can eventually heal from this traumatic event.
