My ex & I were married on Dec.22nd....in hindsight, it was the worst Christmas present I ever got!

I wish that would have happened to me. I tried to get the ex to leave for a long time. I finally gave up and left.

Funny I have a photo from that day... With a smile even!

My daughter, who at the time lived on the next block, came over to keep me company. We went to a local park and made a snowman. It had snowed on Christmas Eve! Which is NOT normal for Tucson, AZ!

I'm glad I reminded you of a happy time! And what a great pic, the snowman on the bench, the snow covered palm, happy you in your very nice outfit on Christmas Day. It's got it all going on.

I guess mine would have been in the thrid grade. Our class always did a gift swap. Well I got a used 3" tall action figure. Not in it's original packaging, just stuffed in a small box and obviously worn and played with. The thing that really ticked me off was the the kids family had a huge farm and the mother was a teacher there! The kids were always well dressed and they drove newer vehicles. They had enough money to at least get me something new. The year before that I got life savers. The third grade was my last year of participating in the class gift swap.

I got my worst present this year. It was a plush rooster with wire legs. It is about 2.5 feet tall, with a brown head and a bright pink body with flowers embroidered on it. It had creepy pink button eyes and about four wimpy excuses for feathers sticking out its butt. I am a girl, but do you know how may people have mistaken me for a boy with longer hair? Like ten! Yeah. I know what I'm taking to the Yankee Swap in a couple days! At least it was only one present I didn't like. I loved everything else!

My MIL once sent a Christmas package and there was something inside for each of us. Toys for the boys, baked goods for hubby, and me? A bar of soap. A. Bar. Of. Soap! It's wasn't some cool artisan soap like people here make out of goat's milk or anything like that (i would so love that!!!).. It was an ordinary bar of soap. 20 years later we are still laughing about that one.

omg some of these are hilarious! lol

the worst i ever got (that i can remember) was a pair of NEON PINK fuzzy slippers

and someone had written a phone number on the bottom of it lol (couldn't find paper?). it was from distant relatives that obviously wrapped that up last minute, i'd rather they didn't give me anything!

and to the people who got dumped etc. on christmas: if someone could do something like that, then it TRULY WAS a christmas present cuz you don't need 'em! good riddance

Merry Christmas BYC!

I have to join this thread. I'd rather get nothing than what I have been getting for the past year. DH and I got a combined gift this year from our DD19 and her DH. A T-shirt, in HUBBY'S size, that will swallow me whole, and we are expected to share it! BUT I have to say that is in keeping with the gifts she gives me, because for Mother's Day she gave me a CD that HE wanted and had been asking for and knew I dislike that particular band while she got her grandmother an expensive video game console, I was told they were broke and couldn't afford more than a CD. For my birthday, she made a point to get me something.....something else DH had been wanting, and when I made a negative comment about it after she had left, DH said I was being ungrateful

Ah the joys of being a hated stepmom

so for me, this year, my worst gift, was a T-shirt 3 sizes too big, that fits hubby just fine

Sorry if I sound ungrateful I just HAD to get that OUT, it made me cry this morning when I thought about it. It really hurts my feelings.

I am so sorry to hear about your house, that trumps girdles, dumps, tacky toys and odd clothing.

I hope you have a warm place to go and good insurance.

My thoughts are with you.
