Worst. Movie. Ever.

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE total flop!! I grew up reading that book all of the time and thought this would be wonderful...

We took our kids yesterday, $60 in tickets and snacks, only to leave disgusted.

Still disgusted today and I feel really ripped off.

a bad movie/new release :

District 9 ....

a ship of aliens arrive at earth , hovers for months ,eventually people decide
to check it out, send up a probe open it up to find it full of starving aliens.
The aliens are taken off the ship put into a concentration camp type area
called district 9 . They are visious, gross, brutal.... they have weapons that
-of course- we want to use ourselves but can't because the weapons will only work in the hands of the aliens they need alien DNA to work .
Doesn't one of the aliens invent something that infects humans and converts them to aliens ? Don't humans that these "converts" and experiment on them and hack them up to try to be able to use these alien weapons - first thing I thought before stopped watching the movie was who was the FREAK that wrote this garbage.

We did see "where the wild things are" this weekend and it was sweet.
It's hard for a child to really grasp but enough stuff in it to hold their attention though.

Le Divorce. A movie that says it's a romantic comedy should not have attempted suicide. That is neither funny nor remotely light-hearted. And it went on forever.

Though I'm not sure about my taste, a lot of my favorite movies have been listed in this thread

Harold & Kumar -Guantanimo Bay. Stupid beyond belief! Not only boring, but a punishment to watch. It is the only video I have rented & not finished... The raunchy parts were not "Tee hee, Oopsie"/ inappropriate, they were squirmingly ugly.

I usually LIKE silly, stupid stuff. I mean, I laughed through Team America, while DH went outside to do lawn work.

I built the set for Brigadoon in high school. I successfully predicted the plot of the Village from my first sighting of a preview.

Certain 'scary' movies become far more enjoyable when you mentally switch them from the 'horror' to the 'comedy' genre. Snakes on a Plane was one such.

Other 'horror' movies I watch and have a sneaking suspicion the writers were trying to be funny. It's like watching a George Lopez special where everyone falls victim to man-eating crocodiles. Which, some to think of it, I would probably pay to watch.

Johnathan Livingston Seagull old movie walked out of the theater after about 20 min. I like sleeper movies but if I stayed for this one I probably would have been in a coma.

LOL .. I love how someone posts a HORRIBLE movie and someone else is saying "Oh, I LOVED that movie" ...

Aren't you glad we aren't all alike??

Variety is the spice of life ... and all that Jazz.

I'll agree on The Village .. and almost anything with Adam Sandler .. And most war movies that DH loves to watch

But I'm not a big movie watcher. I have a few favs that I watch over and over and over .. but never thrilled to just go see a movie.
