Worst tragedy ever!!! will they die?????

I have WHAT in my yard? :

We have had many broods over the last few years, and we have learned to wire tie the waterer to the side of the container or in some other fashion tie it to something. Even ones with rocks in them they have managed to tip.

This is a great tip--I never would have thought to do this. Makes perfect sense-- thanks!

One thing that you can pat your back about now, is you'll never make those mistakes again!

Fill it with water that's lukewarm to slightly warm. And don't fill it all the way--I've never seen a water fount that's so vertical. It *DOES* look top heavy. All mine look a little cone-shaped like:

So just fill it halfway and it should be less likely to tip.

i have this one too i have it in with my 3-4 week old girls and i have it and their food up on a hard plastic drink crate like the ones sam's has their bottled drinks in and i fill it about half full and i have a smaller version in with my little girls that i fill with about 2 c of lukewarm water and add about a tbsp of sugar for the first few days it seems to help with the spillage

I had a very wet chick the other day too one of the smaller ones had gotten soaked somehow and i just wrapped her up in a paper towel to soak up all the water and had my daughter put a towel in the dryer and get it warm and we wrapped the chick up and when she was completly dry we put her under the heat for a few seconds and i put in with the little girls for a bit and she did fine and after she was eaing and drinking good i put her back in with the big girls
